1.- Where is the Fertile Crescent located?
It is located in the Middle East.
2. Why is it called Fertile Crescent?
Because the soil was fertile and the region is shaped like a crescent (huge arch)

Rhe fertile Crescent starts in the east at The Persian Gulf through the coast of the Mediterranean Sea.
4. Why does Nomads settle in the Fertile Crescent?
Because the soil was rich to raise animals and crops.

This allowed them to trade the excess crops and animals with others.
As trading increased the population grew. There was a need for a written language, mathematics, laws, medicene and so on.
6. Mention an important fact about the Fertile Crescent?
The Fertile Crescent was the home of the world´s First civilizations.

1. What is a region?
A region is a group of places that have physical features or human characteristics or both in common.
2. Which climatic zone do you live in?
I live in the Tropical zone.
3. Which continent is completely in one climatic zone? Which zone is it?
Antartica is completely in the Polar zone.
4. Name the land regions.
Mountains
Highlands
Plateaus
Plains
5. How many regions are there in Ecuador? Write the names.
There are 4 regions in Ecuador: The Coast, The Highland, The Amazon and The Galapagos Islands.
6. Name the tallest mountain in the world.
Mt. Everest is the tallest mountain in the world.

There are 24 Provinces in Ecuador.

Resources are things that people need to satisfy their needs. There are 2 types of resources: Renewable and Non-renewable.

1. How are people different and similar at the same time?
We are different because we have different physical characteristics, we speak different languages and we have different cultures, we are similar because we are humans.
2. Why people need other people?
Because they need to protect one another.
3. What is a community?
A community is a group of people that helps one another, they can live in a small village or in a big city.
4. What is part of a natural environment?
Mountains, deserts, seas and rivers, weather, plants and animals are part of a natural environment.
5. Who is an archeologist?
Is a scientist who study how humans lived long ago.
6. How does the natural environment affect how you live?
It helps us decide how we will live in a place: the clothes we´ll wear, the food we´ll eat and the houses we´ll build.
7. What is culture?
Culture us a community´s way of life. I can mention a few examples: Languague, food, dress code, holidays.
8. What is Economy?
It means the way people make, buy and sell things.
9. What is the government in charge of?
The government is in charge of making the laws.
10. Why is today´s world different than 150 years ago?
Because we have technology.
Technology means the tools, materials and knowledge people use to make things.
For example we use computers now to keep in touch with peolpe all over the world.
11.- What is internet?
It os the way coputers are connected to each other by phone lines or cables. It´s one of the greatest inventions of the century.
12.- What do you do with internet?
We can get information. go shopping, chat with friends, watch videos, play games and more.
13.-What is pollution?
It is the dirtying of the Earth´s air and water.
14. Name 4 ways that people polute the land.
By farming, grazing, producing waste and building houses.
15. Name 3 ways in which people can control pollution.
By don´t using chemicals, pesticides and recycling.
16. Why is it important to recycle?
Because people can control pollution by recycling.
